Terroir

Quinta da Castanheira is located in Baião, in northern Portugal, on the south bank of the Douro river — a transition zone between two of the country's most expressive wine regions.

On one side the Demarcated Douro region; on the other, the Vinhos Verdes. The estate sits at 250 m elevation, on a granite ridge facing southeast.

It's this unique meeting of climates and soils that gives 1000 Curvas wines their structure, freshness and minerality.
